These terms govern your use of Odobook — the website at odobook.app, the web app, and the mobile apps (together, “the Service”). The Service is operated by Michal Kalous, a sole trader (OSVČ) based in the Czech Republic. By using the Service you agree to these terms; if you do not agree, please do not use it.
Odobook is a local-first vehicle maintenance log: it stores your records on your device and provides tools such as reminders, fuel statistics, exports, and (with Pro) PDF reports and imports. The free tier is genuinely free, has no ads, and requires no account. An optional account exists to attach your Pro purchase to you.
Odobook Pro is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It does not renew and there are no recurring charges. Pro permanently unlocks the Pro features as they exist at the time of purchase (currently: unlimited vehicles, PDF service history report, receipt/photo attachments, CSV import, and custom categories), including reasonable updates to them.
We may add entirely new features in the future that are sold separately (for example, an optional cloud sync service with real recurring costs). Such additions do not reduce what your Pro purchase already includes.
Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are processed by Apple or Google under their own terms, including their refund policies; purchases on the web are processed by our payment provider. Use “Restore Purchases” (with the same account/store identity) to re-activate Pro on a new device.
If you are an EU consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content purchased on the web. By starting to use Pro immediately after purchase you consent to immediate performance; where you have not used the unlock, contact us at hello@odobook.app within 14 days for a refund. Statutory warranty rights for digital content under EU and Czech consumer law remain unaffected by these terms.
Because Odobook is local-first, your records live on your device and we hold no copy. That is a feature, and it comes with a duty: you are responsible for backups. The app provides free CSV export — use it regularly. Deleting the app, clearing browser storage, or losing a device can permanently destroy locally stored data, and we cannot recover it for you.
Don't attempt to disrupt the Service, circumvent purchase verification, or use the Service for unlawful purposes. Content you store in the app is yours; you are responsible for having the right to store it.
Maintenance intervals, checklists, calculators, and similar content on the website and in the app are general informational aids, clearly labeled as typical values. They are not technical advice for your specific vehicle — your manufacturer's documentation always takes precedence.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation and are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, including loss of locally stored data (see section 5). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including mandatory Czech and EU consumer protections.
We may update the Service and these terms; material changes will be indicated by the date above and, where appropriate, an in-app or website notice. A change will never convert your one-time Pro purchase into a subscription.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic; EU consumers also retain the protections of the mandatory consumer laws of their country of residence. Disputes may be brought before the competent Czech courts or, for consumers, the courts of your residence where the law so provides. The Czech Trade Inspection Authority (ČOI, coi.cz) is the out-of-court dispute resolution body for consumers in the Czech Republic.
