Service timeline

Every oil change, part, and receipt — one clean timeline

Log a service in seconds: date, odometer, category, cost, notes, and who did the work. DIY or shop, everything lands on one chronological timeline per vehicle, so “when did I last change the coolant?” takes three seconds to answer, not a dig through the glovebox.

  • Date, mileage, category, cost, vendor, and notes per record
  • Fuel log with automatic MPG / L/100km and cost stats
  • Everything is editable — it's your log, not a locked report
  • Receipt photos on every record with Pro

Reminders

Reminders that understand miles, not just dates

Maintenance is due by distance, but calendars only speak in dates — the exact reason spreadsheet logs quietly fail. Odobook reminders track both: set “every 5,000 miles or 6 months,” and the app estimates what's coming from the mileage you already log.

  • Due by date, by odometer, or whichever comes first
  • Mileage estimated from your fuel and service entries
  • Interval presets for common services — tweak them freely
  • Unlimited reminders on the free tier

DIY work doesn't show on CARFAX. Your PDF report does.

A documented service history can add roughly 10–20% to a used car's value, and in a Kwik Fit survey of 2,000 owners nearly half said they wouldn't consider a used car without one. But oil changes done in your driveway never appear in any commercial history report. Odobook Pro turns your log into a clean, dated, odometer-stamped PDF — proof a buyer can actually hold.

  • Full service history with dates, mileage, costs, and notes
  • Receipt photos embedded as supporting evidence
  • Also useful for warranty claims and lease returns
  • One tap to generate, share, or print

Why not a subscription?

A maintenance log is a 15-year relationship. Subscriptions aren't.

This category has burned its users, repeatedly. Apps that were free for a decade introduced paid tiers. Annual prices that started around $6 have been raised to $25 and beyond. One popular logger retroactively limited a paid “lifetime” ad-free unlock to two years, then pushed everyone to a subscription. Others simply stopped shipping updates — years ago — while still charging, leaving people locked out of records they spent years building.

We think that's backwards. A car outlives app trends: you'll own it for a decade, and the log only becomes more valuable with every entry. A tool like that has to be built so that you can walk away and lose nothing — which is exactly why Odobook is local-first with free CSV export, and why Pro is a one-time $9.99 purchase instead of a meter running on your own records.

FAQ

Fair questions, straight answers

Is Odobook really free?+

Yes. The free tier includes one vehicle, unlimited service records, unlimited reminders, fuel tracking with consumption stats, and CSV export — with no ads and no account required. Pro is a single $9.99 purchase that adds unlimited vehicles, the PDF service history report, receipt photos, CSV import, and custom categories.

Where is my data stored?+

On your device, in a local database. Odobook is local-first: records never need to touch a server, and the app works fully offline. You can export everything to CSV at any time, for free. Signing in is optional and only used to attach your Pro purchase to you so it follows you across devices.

What happens to my records if Odobook shuts down?+

Nothing. Your data lives on your device, not on our servers, and CSV export is free forever — so you always hold a complete, portable copy of your service history. That is the whole point of building local-first.

Is $9.99 really one-time? No subscription?+

Really one-time. Pro is a standard one-time purchase (a non-consumable on the app stores), not a subscription — everything Pro includes today is yours for good. If we ever add features with real recurring server costs, such as optional cloud sync, those would be priced separately and honestly. Pro itself never turns into a subscription.

Can I import my existing spreadsheet or another app's data?+

Yes — Pro includes CSV import, so you can bring records over from a Google Sheets or Excel maintenance log, or from CSV exports of apps like Drivvo, Fuelio, Fuelly, aCar, or Simply Auto, and keep your full history in one place.

Does Odobook work offline?+

Yes. Because all data is stored locally, logging a service, a fill-up, or checking a reminder works with no connection at all — in an underground garage or at a gas pump with no signal.

Which platforms does Odobook run on?+

The web app runs in any modern browser at odobook.app and is free to use with no install. Native Android and iOS apps are on the way — the same log, the same one-time Pro purchase.
